Tan Yuö, Contralto, a native of Hong Kong, sang with Nevada Opera Company for a few seasons before moving to New York. She performed in numerous concerts and recitals in the tri-state area as a soloist. In 2000, she participated in Dicapo Opera Theatre's workshops and had subsequently joined Dicapo's Young Artist Program of the same year, and has performed with various New York area opera theatres since as an Emerging Artist. Roles she has performed include La Cieca in La Gioconda, Erda in Das Rheingold, La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica, Fricka in Die Walkure, Knusperhexe in Hansel und Gretel, Azucena in Il Trovatore, Venus in Tannhauser, Ulrica in Un Ballo in Maschera, Carmen in Carmen, and Amneris in Aida. Upcoming roles scheduled for performances include Maddalena in Rigoletto, and Eboli in Don Carlos in 2006.
