Ramon Alsina Artists Managment presents Seong Sook Choi

Soprano Seong Sook Choi is a native of South Korea and got Master's degree at Manhattan School of Music and Doctor's degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She appeared in Dawn Upshaw's master class and as Nedda in Pagliacci at Manhattan School of Music. She went to Tanglewood Music Camp with Berstein Scholarship as a fellow and performed recitals of Rachmaninoff, Argento, Dvorak. She appeared as Adina in L'elisir d'amore and Despina in Cosi fan tutte with Sarasota Opera Company as an apprentice. She was the first winner at Five Towns Foundation of Music and Arts Competition and the first place winner of Dicapo Opera Theater opera competition and was the New York district winner of Metropolitan opera national competition. At Stony Brook while she was purchasing her doctor's degree, she performed Lauretta in Giannischichi and as Dominique in Doctor Miracle and as Suzel in L'amico Fritz at Staller Center in Stony Brook and as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at Shirly Library in Long Island. Since then, she has been performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Japan and her native Korea. She performed as Mimi, Nedda, Gretel, Dew Fairy, Lauretta, Pamina, Voluptua, and a CioCio-San, Oscar in opera La Boheme, Pagliacci, Hansel and Gretel, L'amico Fritz, Giannischichi, Signor Deluso, Die Zauberfloete , Un ballo in Maschera with Dicapo Opera company, Island Lyric Opera Company, Mobile Opera Company in New York, Sarasota Opera Company, Seoul City Opera Company, Grand Opera Company, Kwang In Opera Company, Kammo 21 opera company and Beseto Opera Company in Korea and Japan. Also, she gave numerous solo concerts and oratorio performances with great orchestras such as Hungary MAV Orchestra, Ukraina Kiev Orchestra, North Hungary National Orchestra and Korean Symphony Orchestra, Suwon City Orchestra, Prime Orchestra throughout the world. She appeared as the old woman in monologue opera the Old woman of Beare with Japanese famous woodwind ensemble Kochi with great compliment in the international festival of women in Music Today. In 2006 she was a faculty and a judge at LISMA Foundation International Summer Music Festival and Competition and a director of voice department at Long Island Conservatory SUNY at Old Westbury. Now she is a faculty at New York Conservatory of Music and Art.
