The eminent, well-known, and highly praised, internationally acclaimed Priscilla Gordon was cited by the New York Times when they said of her unique interpretations: "Ms. Gordon matched the Shifting moods brilliantly. Ms. Gordon has a handsome voice, what is more, she showed both taste and imagination in her use of it. An unusually interesting evening." The Berkshire Eagle described Ms. Gordon as "Excellent-Dynamic-Brilliant-Convincing." Similar reviews have followed her worldwide, such as from Madrid's Informaciones: "Ms. Gordon has more than enough category to attack the most difficult program. A very dignified singer who supplements with musicality and enthusiasm." Born in the mountains of Virginia, her talents were discovered as early as her kindergarten years. Thus, she has virtually always sung and performed in the public eye, appearing with major opera Companies, symphony orchestras, in oratorio and other religious music, and musical theater throughout the world. Upon graduation from the New England Conservatory in Boston, MA. Which she attended on scholarship, Priscilla headed for Europe with the aid of additional study grants. Her goal was to study all the languages, the people who spoke those languages, and their music on a first hand basis. This thorough training and knowledge has led Priscilla Gordon to become and authority in the French, German, Spanish, English, Italian, and American art songs. From Russia, Sweden, England, France, Germany, throughout Switzerland, Spain and Italy, as well as soon to be the far eastern countries and Africa, her concerts of ten different programs have been repeatedly heard and applauded. She has toured extensively in Latin America including Mexico. For the past five years Priscilla has been performing these concerts throughout the United States and Canada, in major cities and small from Toronto to Quebec and Montrea, from Boston to New York, New Orleans and Tampa, with stops in between performing in major auditoriums. For the past two seasons, her entire series has been heard in Brooklyn and New York at the United Nations, The Liederkranz, Steinway Hall and Cami Hall in New York, as well as in numerous churches, including Eglise Francaise and St. Patrick's Cathedral, to name a few. The series has also been heard in fine hotels such as the Barbazon, Esplanade, Hilton and Best Western Chains. Ms. Gordon chooses as her collaborators (depending on the concert to be performed) from a long and illustrious list of international pianists, who are eager to be a part of this versatile and world renowned singer's performances. All of Ms. Gordon's concerts are available on CD, cassette and video through ARKO recordings. She has released over fifty recordings to date, which include Opera, Oratorio and other religious music, as well as musical theater and popular songs. Priscilla also holds regular Master Classes throughout the country. |
