Ramon Alsina Artists Managment presents Tamara Cashour

Dramatic/Verdi soprano Tamara Cashour made her Carnegie Hall/Weill Recital Hall, debut in December 2001, singing arias and ensembles from Verdi's AROLDO and NABUCCO in the "Voices of the New Millenium" Concert sponsored by Naomi Music Productions. Known for her interpretations of Verdi arias, Ms. Cashour recently sang Lady Macbeth in concert with the Riverside Opera, Staten Island, and Abigaille, Mina, Lina and Lady Macbeth in the Verdi Marathon sponsored by the Pelham Bay Opera Festival.

Other opera credits include the lead roles in ARIADNE AUF NAXOS and SUOR ANGELICA with both Genesis Repertory Ensemble and Naomi Music Productions at The Kaufmann Cultural Center, and Ortlinda with OPERA DRAMMATICA, all in New York City. Other prominent opera role credits in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area include Desdemona in concert selections/scenes from OTELLO with La Piccola Scala, Elle in Poulenc's LA VOIX HUMAINE with Amour Productions and the dual roles of Princess Berthe and The Siren in a world premiere performance of Seymour Barab's ONDINE produced by The Center for Contemporary Opera. Ms. Cashour has also sung the roles of Fiordiligi, Mimi, Micaëla, Violetta and Leonora with New York area companies and ensembles. Ms. Cashour was guest soprano soloist with the Hawthorne Symphony Orchestra under Maestro John Minkoff in their fall 2002 and 2003 concerts, singing the soprano aria from Verdi's ERNANI as well as arias from DER FREISCHÜTZ. She will return to sing excerpts from DIE WALKÜRE in fall 2005 with Hawthorne. Ms. Cashour has also been a soloist with the Columbia University Orchestra, Barnard-Columbia Philharmonic, and the L'orchestra sinfonica irpina in Lauro, Italy, in arias of Mozart, Verdi and Catalani. The recipient of numerous awards for voice, Ms. Cashour was 3rd place winner of the 1998 San Francisco International Concerto Competition, Aria Division; a 1999 semi-finalist in the NY Vocal Artists Vocal Competition, and has been a finalist both in the Gerda Lissner Vocal Foundation Awards and the Jan Peerce Vocal Competition. Her oratorio/orchestral repertoire includes the Verdi Requiem, Beethoven's 9th symphony and the Final Scene from Strauss's SALOME. Also a composer of art songs, Ms. Cashour has been a regular guest artist with Genesis's unique "ARIAS and SONNETS" series, honoring the works of Shakespeare in music. She has also premiered several of her art songs in recital at Franklin Furnace, Columbia University and other NYC venues, and as well is active in performing the music of many contemporary living composers.

Ms. Cashour maintains a concomitant career as a pianist-vocal coach. She has the particular distinction of performing at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall as both a singer and as an accompanist. Ms. Cashour made her accompanying debut in February, 2002 at Weill Hall with soprano Jacqueline George in a recital of art songs. In US regional opera, she has been Music Director for the Natchez Opera Festival and FBN Productions, coach-accompanist for the Indianapolis Opera. Lake George Opera. Currently she is the rehearsal-performance pianist for the Vertical Player Repertory Theatre in Brooklyn, and has worked in similar capacities for Operesque, The Amato Opera, Garden State Opera, La Piccola Scala and the Pacific Opera. Ms. Cashour has also had the pleasure of working as rehearsal pianist for the Hawthorne Symphony under Maestro Minkoff, last season rehearsing Wotan's Fire Music from DIE WALKÜRE and scenes from Verdi's OTELLO. Ms. Cashour has also worked as rehearsal pianist for the Bronx Symphony. Ms. Cashour concertizes regularly with singers in the NYC area, the regional US and in Europe. Ms. Cashour is on the vocal coaching staff of the Manhattan School of Music and is head of the vocal instruction staff at JCC on the Hudson. She formerly held the same position at Garden State Music Academy. She has also been a vocal coach/accompanist at Actor's Studio in NYC.
